May 14th Farmers Market

Mothers’ Day is this weekend, are you ready?

How about stopping by the market to pick your mom up a lovely bunch of asparagus (because you’re cooking dinner for her, right?), or a gift basket from Wynndel Lavender (she has the prettiest packaging for ready-made gifts), or a painting from Ute Bachinski or illustration from Bruce Paterson? Yum Soap and Sundry and Yellow Rose Handcrafted Designs both have soaps and body products that are oh-so-luxurious (we love Yum’s massage oil and the facial scrub from Yellow Rose is ah-ma-zing!)

We’ve also got a few new (or fairly new) vendors for you to check out this weekend: Bohemian Spirits (vodka and gin from local grains!), Just in Time Kitchen (we tried the cinnamon buns last week, and they were so fluffy and tasty!), Bella Stella Cheese (the block I bought last time they came to Creston is gone), Nuts 4 U Granola (the apple cinnamon one is awesome!), and Budding Farms (flower baskets and plant starts). There’s always something new to check out each week at the Creston Valley Farmers’ Market!

Basically, the market has you covered for everything this Mothers’ Day. Make it extra special for all the moms, grandma’s, step-mom’s, and all those females involved in raising the next generation!

Psst. Asparagus is READY!

April 15th Farmers’ Market

Creston Valley Farmers’ Market April 15th, outside next to the Visitors Centre, 9am – 1pm.

We’re trying something new with hosting an outdoor April farmers’ market! Come on out, start you morning off with a locally roasted espresso from Lark, enjoy some sunshine (it’s in the forecast!), and continue your day with a little more pep in your step!

We’ve got 30 vendors featuring some of the best the Creston Valley has to offer this time of the year. You’ll find locally raised meats from both Tarzwell Farms and Kootenay Natural Meats, heirloom grains from Treasure Life Flour Mills and flax from Golden Flax Farm, and the first greens of the season from Cookville Community Gardens. Sweet Turtle has handmade chocolate Easter treats made with fair trade ingredients. Luv at First Bite has handmade marshmallow bunnies, and there’s so many more sweet and savoury treats.

As for artisans, we always have an amazing crew of regular market vendors where many go back time and time again for gifts (for others or themselves!) Orde Creek Pottery, Wynndel Lavender, Yum Soap & Sundry, Yellow Rose Handcrafted Designs, Earthsong Stained Glass and Bluemoon Pottery and Fibre Studio will be at the market all season long. Be sure to think of our local vendors when you’re buying wedding gifts or redecorating your home!

Hooray for Spring!

Let’s show them how awesome our market is!
(And yes, there will also be an outdoor market on Saturday April 15th!!)

Morris Greenhouse Indoor Farmers’ Market

Just because it gets a little cold and blustery doesn’t mean the fun at the Farmers’ Market ends! We move everything indoors to Morris Greenhouse and Garden Centre at 1403 Erickson Rd, just across from the Columbia Brewery in Creston.

Parking is available at the Greenhouse in the front or along the side, or just across the street in the Brewery parking lot. We ask market patrons to refrain from parking on Erickson Rd.

We still have lots of great farm vendors at the market year round. As the weather continues to get colder, more artisans come to join the Farmers’ Market. It’s a great place to get unique handmade gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list! Aren’t we so glad for the shed glass replacement alternative we decided to go with, our space is warm year round.

There’s always some sort of live entertainment at the market. The line up changes every weekend, so you’ll always have something new to listen to!

See you at the market!

Every Saturday October through to December 17th.

9am – 1pm at Morris Greenhouse.

September 24th Layout

It’s our last outdoor market of the 2016 season! We’ll be moving things indoors to Morris Greenhouse next Saturday.

With it being the last Saturday of the month, the Public Library will be on site with some fun kids activities planned. Find them right beside the Kids Play tent.

It’s not too late to be getting more canning and other food preserving done! There are still lots of tomatoes, peppers and onions (salsa, anyone?). Apples and pears are going strong for all your fruit purees, fruit leathers and fruit butters. The fall squashes are all looking lovely with their beautiful colours and just waiting to be turned into roasted squash soups….

Plus, with a whole bunch of talented artisans, soap makers, wood carvers, and many more, a Saturday morning at the Farmers’ Market will also be a delight.

Sept 17th Market Line-up

The month of September is always a blur… canning pints of tomatoes, pickles, and peaches, the kids going back to school, and the local Fall Fair… sometimes it’s hard to even catch your breath! We recommend taking a break from all the craziness and joining us at the last two outdoor Farmers’ Markets of the season.

Find us September 17th & 24th behind the Chamber of Commerce, from 9am to 1pm. But don’t worry – the fun doesn’t end there! We move indoors to Morris Greenhouse (1403 Erickson), every Saturday starting October 1st to December 17th.

Check out the list of vendors joining us this Saturday!
